Z/KFX/DVX 400 camshaft question.

The guys at the local shop say I can change JUST my intake cam on my KFX, and it will improve performance. Then I read in a Royal Distributing book that they recommend only changing intake for trail riding apps, changing intake/exhaust cams for MX or dunes. So my question is, if you put more fuel in, shouldn't you have to let more fuel out? Has any changed just the intake and had any problems? I'm sure somebody must know something about this, your input would be appriciated

Re: Z/KFX/DVX 400 camshaft question.

I replaced both cams when i did mine. I'm happy with the results and im just a trail rider, but to take full advantage of the cams you should add a good quality rev box too. I can give ya some links where ya can find these pretty reasonable. i paid $219 shipped for the hot cams, and $100 for the rev box. Another nice mod is putting in a DRZ400 base gasket, its thinner than the Z gasket and will bump up your compression a bit. But to answer your origanal question, you can just install the intake cam,but why not do both while your in there?..just my 2 cents, hope this helped.
