?? For those who compete ??
How many min. do you guys get per run and how many runs do you get at the comps. Just trying to see if I can put togeather a decent run with the tricks I do know.
Still deciding if I'm riding at phycofest or not but am going for sure.
thanks

Re: ?? For those who compete ??
Don't know about Psychofest, but events like Stuntrageous were a 3 minute run, single rider on the track. They use XSBA rules (which I personally do not like for a quad comp, but my opinion means jack). Anyway I can't remember exactly, but that basically means you are judged on like 3 or 4 categories including (and these are the two I don't like), burnouts and endo's. The reason I don't like it, is because it forces you to do those tricks....sure I guess if you look at the big picture, the Overall best rider out there "should" win, but I still don't like it. I mean, how hard is it to do a burnout on a quad???? Well now that I think about it, it must be pretty hard because I couldn't do one in last years comp....hahahha (carburator boot was off, and very little front brakes). I can't even remember what the other categories were, but I'm sure they are something like Style and things like that.
Anyway, whatever you do just make sure your quad can do a burnout and endo if needed....I wish that I would have asked this question in advance so I could have found that out too....lol.
On a side note, I'd rather see comps judge in categories like Style (the flair you put into your tricks and etc.), Finess (how smooth your tricks are, and how clean you execute them), Difficulty (how difficult your run was), and maybe something like Crowd Reaction (how well you work the crowd...not 100% sure on this one). I dunno, I think that scoring like that would just work better overall....then you can showcase what you are best at, rather than be forced to do things....I man it is FREESTYLE. The people that are good at wheelies can do wheelies....the ones that are good at endos can do endos, and the ones that like burnouts can do burnouts. Just my opinion....
Hahah...sorry to get sidetracked a little there. Hope that this was at least somewhat helpful.

Criteria is diff at every show
Smoothness/Execution
Difficulity
Originality
Variety
and a couple others
In my eyes to win u need to be an "All around good stunter"
Ill be the first to admit burnouts are cake and stoppies i SUCK at
But you wouldnt by a car that went 100 miles and was rusty per hr if the car next to it did 90 and had all the bells and whistles!!
Disclaimer:
I ride to have fun and see everyone i rarely meet..

Re: ?? For those who compete ??
I don't disagree with what you said, but I still think the rules are retarded....I want to see people doing the things that they are best at.
If I throw a run where I do a flamingo, one hander, and a no footer (which we all know is way beyond the ability of a normal human being...hehe), and then you do a run with a flamingo, one hander, a no footer, and an Endo, then you'd win. I just think that they can make it so the best overall rider still wins, without forcing anybody to do any tricks they don't want to do.
I dunno....just my opinion I guess. I could be way off and maybe they are doing things the best way.
I agree....The most fun is meeting people and riding with people. I had a blast during practice when were were all chillin hangin wheelies....I got to meet all you guys, and a few others, and it was great.
I still am not a big fan of the rules though.....that's all. Nothing to do with whether or not I do good or not...the riding was fun either way.

Here's another question ??
Do you guys bring music or a song to do your routine to ?
I know questions, questions, questions,
Never been so don't know and want to be prepared.

Re: ?? For those who compete ??
Yea, I agree with Josh. You shouldn't have to do **** you don't want/ aren't good at. But it doesn't really matter. This specific event is judged only by crowd response. No rules, just 3 min to freestyle. So go out there, do yo thang, and have fun! :YEAH

Re: ?? For those who compete ??
yeah i agree with Phear, it is cool when you get to see people showcaseing their own individual talents. When you have to be judged on 3-5 events/tasks, it kind of takes away the creativeness of the person doing the tricks.
