Re: 12 oclock bar for ATV

You really can't buy a 12 bar for a quad. What you bought from Jardine was a grab and most likely aluminum which is a lot weaker then your stock grab bar. 90% of the aftermarket grab bars you can buy are aluminum so they are pretty much junk for stunting. When it comes down to it there is not much of a difference between a 12 bar and a grab except the strength and purpose. Building a 12 bar for your quad depends on what you want it for. If you want somethign you can just bolt on to screw around with and take off to sell it then you need to be a little creative but if you want to just make a semi pernament one then it's more practical for stunting.

Well my buddy is a metal fabricator and I was going to give him my new jardine one and have him make one thats basically identical except alot stronger but its hard to get the pitch on the scrape part right unless he has the quad in front of him to work with

I would suggest actually scraping it to get the angle. That way you know it's 100% accurate. Let me know if you need any more help.

I made mine out of chromolly tubing, and a solid round bar on the back, its pimp, it is hardly worn and its been on the pavement alot. its real easy to do if you have the right stuff to do it with.

Re: 12 oclock bar for ATV

Well Today I decided to go to home depot...I made my own rear bar by using some Galvanized steel tubing I found in the plumbing dept...I just bought a 8" piece with threaded ends, then some 90* elbows with some other 8" pieces then had to press em flat to bolt up to my frame...worked out awesome when I tested it for 2 hours today...now its just getting some flat spots on it so I am gonna have my buddy weld a piece of flat stock onto it for a perfect little 12 bar...
