subframes

well yesterday i broke my subframe and now im wondering how to fix it. i know i can weld it right back the way it was but i was wondering of anyway to make it tougher my problem is i got a 12 bar and what holds it on is just a few cable clamps, problem was is i kept putting the bar down when i was riding on dirt bad idea. even if i can just get it fixed to just put my foot in that would be alright, but has anyone made a subframe tougher? this is on an xr100

Re: subframes

I just had someone custom make me a whole subframe out of steel, and they welded gussets on it to give it extra strength, they held the bike up, while I jumped up and down on the footbar as hard as I could, its solid as a rock.
If you got the time, just make an entire subframe from steel tubing.
