My 954 was stolen...keep an eye out for it!
Although I'm sure it's in pieces by now, some ******* took off with my 954 last wednesday. I had it up for sale on ebay, this dude called, said his name was "Johnny Martinez", and said he wanted to buy it. He showed up that night with a cashiers check, and took off with the bike. My bank called me today to let me know it was a counterfeit check--
If you see my bike, knock his *** out!

I was getting rid of it, to buy a 600RR and get more serious on the track.
Good news, I met with the claims adjuster from Progressive insurance this morning, and he said it's absolutly going to be covered. It's considered "theft by deception", and is a pretty common crime these days.
SO fortunatly, I will be getting something it return, but will be nowhere near what it's worth no doubt.
The guys info on the check is all phony. Name & address. I had Nextel fax me my most current statement, which showed the number he was calling me from, and forwarded that info to the cops. I doubt if he'll get caught, but it'd sure be nice.
Carefull with your stuff guys!!

That sucks - I feel for ya.
That being said - ARE YOU NUCKING FUTZ?!?!?!?!
You KNOW BETTER than to accept a cashiers check! If the fother mucker has the cash to GET a cashiers check - then he can just bring you the cash.
How many people do you know that got scammed EXACTLY the same way. I know of at least 3. Plus one guy tried it with Too Tall but Too Tall said to come back after the cashiers check cleared. The guy tried to argue and get his check back .... but c'mon - who's gonna win against a 7"1" tattooed monster like Too Tall
Oh well, I'm glad at least your insurance is taking care of it. I've heard horror stories about how the insurance company says "Hey - You handed him the keys - sorry".
I guess all is well that ends well.
But seriously, how long would you like to spend with that a$$hole alone in a dark alley and how many tools would you like to use. I'm thinking about 30 minutes with a blowtorch and pliers would do nicely :YEAH
I'd love to run into a scumbag like that!

soo not cool!! i worked at a bank for 3 years so i heard of all kinds of stories like that.. cashiers checks are NOT cash! ppl dont' understand that! stops and holds cand STILL be placed on a cashiers check just like a personal check... cash is king my friends!

I had never heard of this scam before....I figured a cashiers check was as good as cash. But, apparently that's not the case any more. BS!!
