So you won't see my *** till June 2005
Prologue: The Dept. of State and the Marine Corps have a program in place for the MSG's working at US Embassies abroad. It's called the R&R program. Depending on how shitty and war torn your country is you are elligable for 0 to 3 all expense paid trips anywhere in the world.
Story: Marines seving in Armenia rated one of these trips per 15 months that you are stationed here. I was going to come home for thanksgiving and party hard with RM and eveyrone on here, and spend a week hunting that elusive 10 pointer in NY.
Last week, Marine Security Gaurd Battalion decided that we didn't deserve said R&R. So I can't afford a $1400 round trip ticket from Armenia to Boston and back. I just won't fit into my long term savings goals (bike, truck, and appt when I get out of the Corps for good).
So now the soonest I'll be home is late May, early June 2005. This sucks. I thought it would be cool at first, come home for a month and get a bike for the month and garage it till I get out for good. Well they changed our COT Leave (consequtive overseas tour). Now the most I'll get is 14 days, and that is subject to how bad my new Detachment needs me there. If they're short on Marines, I'm ****ed and won't get to come home.
Epilogue: I hate my life. Someone drop a piano on me, please.
