That's not dry rot, that is the adhesive. Look at the new seal. There is a red adhesive on it. Use brake cleaner. Don't repack them, just get some diff fluid on them. The Fords don't have sealed bearings o you don't use grease. They are fed with diff fluid from the axle housing so you don't want to clog up that system with grease. Just put some diff fluid on them so they don't run dry before the diff fluid from the axle housing gets up to them.

I worked at Dunn Tire when I was in high school and they had them. Belle Tire and Discount Tire here in MI have them so I assumed every tire store had them. Guess they don't use them on the east coast.
