Yeah i guess it's all just mindset ... always just had one and always traded in or sold one to get a new one ... probably keep the f250 after it's paid off and get an diesel suv type for a daily driver ...

Re: Semi work safe
insurance/reg/etc - $700 a year
Time spent repairing/replacing all the little things that go wrong constantly on beater cars - priceless

Re: Semi work safe
Negligible. My insurance for 3 cars is $1000 a year and the extra registration is $100. It's nice having a spare. If I get home late with the truck loaded or a trailer attached, I can just drive the car in the morning. If one needs work, there's another one there. If I don't need my truck, I'll drive the car that gets 30 mpg. I've put 75k on my neon. It has more than paid for itself in gas savings and saving miles on the nice vehicles.

Re: Semi work safe
I find that half the **** i have to repair is due to the cars age, not mileage. My neon for instance, only has 70k miles. But its a 95 so random little things fall apart on it all the time. Of the last 4 things wrong with it, onyl the brakes were mileage dependant.
