Hollywoods Block Party 2008

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
I thought that was the guys that said they were lane splitting to get to the ride but never made it. There are only like 4 bikes in pic which threw me off. I got it now. Wow. Looks like getting split from group in Time Square worked out for me. Probaly be in jail or something right now.

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
Thanks for making the effort man!
I guess I didn't get it because I was not around for both events. Funny thing I came done Van Wyck and saw MAD traffic on belt(must have been you guys lol). Luckily I know the roads so I blew through local streets and made it 3 minutes before everyone pulled of at the meet.:YEAH

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
Falcon is the guy who posted that horrible video of highway riding and had a 5 second clip of Wink in it.
He also stated hes never done a wheelie and does endoes by locking the front wheel at 5 mph.
He thought scraping those comfy low pegs on a SV was sooooo dangerous.
Hes just a plain nooob in my eyes. Could be a cop though

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
Yeah right, if being a vet didn't get me out of a ticket on my BIRTHDAY for passing on a solid line at a VERY respectable pace and with the driver's permission(waved us on), doubt I would have gotten away with whatever craziness I would have done to avoid being hassled by the cops AGAIN!!
They even ticked me leaving a FUNERAL for a rider!(the corections OFFICER that got shot for his bike in BKLYN). I avoid them with a passion!

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
I have to say this forum has been the most hostile, argumentative and paranoid forum I've been on and I'm on many biker forums.
Now I know everyone is not like that because I rode with some great people today and I know many are on here and also other people on here have been helpful.
Point is, you guys that are so hostile should consider how you make it look for other riders on here. Is it fair for you to make everyone else look bad? Now what if I was somebody who could make some big things happen for some riders on here(I'm not, but what IF?)? You might have closed that door for other people who have busted thier butt for years practicing and fixing their bikes and trying to make it. Forget what you think about me, just consider that you don't know who is on this forum and who you might be pissing of. I mean after my experience here, I know I would never want to do any business with this community. It would be too hard to find the ones on here that a professionals and local. People like you have contributed to making me think that. I have not disrespected anyone or done anything to warrant all the attitude.
I know I come from a different world than many on here, but I don't look down on you guys, I respect when I see you guys doing 12 o clock wheelies with NO wheelie bar and a T-shirt. Can you hang with me on the track or in the twisties? Probably not since I ride with bikes twice as powerful as my bike and more than keep up. But you don't respect that, you call me a noob when I've been into bikes before you were born probably and I very likely know a lot more about bikes that you do. Nobody touches my bike but me since I do all my own work. Do you? I've ridden in multiple storms where cars are even having trouble. Can you hang with me? Can you roll with me to Niagara falls? I'm not the best rider out there, but I've ridden 20,000 miles in the last 2 1/2 years and have not crashed once even though I can ride with the best of them. I ride ALL year long, rain snow..whatever. Can you say that?
I respect what you do, so you respect what I do. Get mad at the guys that put our ride at risk today or the cops that ran us from the spot where we were stunitin and not hurtin nobody, but lay of me man.

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008
just got back what a ****** awesome ride. Bikes everywhere. I left... met up with some people on the way down... got there... it was absolutely nuts in every way. the funniest part was some cop was sleeping in his car with his hand out the window and like 3 people in a row smcked his hand and he finally woke up wondering WTF happened as a shitload of bikes passed by. Crazy ride... good times.

Re: Hollywoods Block Party 2008[posting up video]
I really don't feel like posting anything up after all the hostility, but I will anyway. I'm not going to take something away from other riders because of the actions of a few.
I'm going to grab some highlights from the tape and post it up. Be ready in an hour. I'll post the link. Don't bother critiquing it either. I'm putting this up for those who want to see some of ride and maybe themselves, I'm not putting much effort into it. Just grabbing some shots and putting it on youtube.
