Arrow Organizing a stunt show...

Hey guys, I'm looking to organize a stunt show, but I'm not really sure where to start. I know I need a venue (obviously), permits and insurance.

Where would I get this type of insurance, how much money would I need to jump start the process..

I think I know of a few possible sponsors and I have a lot of ideas, I just need a push in the right direction.

Any ideas?

Re: Organizing a stunt show...

well the first thing you do is contact someone who knows what they are doing... and then when they dont tell you exactly what you want to hear... then you find somebody else and contact them..

and so on until you find someone who tells you what you want to hear and then wastes your time and money by helping you throw a meaningless sub-par event

#1 I wouldnt put XDL on anything

#2 what I would tell someone to do in milwaukee would be easy, and it could make money.. but it wouldnt be what they wanted to hear... so they would end up consulting someone else and have the bright idea to do it at some out of the way facility and try to give away too much money and book some has been rapper etc etc... and the whole time the new person they consulted would be like "yeah its gonna be great" because his name would be on the event but he is investing no money

now $50k later when the event has flopped and the promoter has lost all their money with a sub-par event.. the person they consulted can bounce back to florida with no worries

and the person they originally consulted will continue to shake his head in disbelief and wonder when these people will learn to listen

You cant save em all thomas lmao! If you got good advice on something why not give it? At least ya tried, and weather you do or dont they will still put one on with a possibility of listening to advice to someone that is doing it now!

Re: Organizing a stunt show...

Yup because people dont take the time and effort to do it right, so they do whatever needs to be done to have what they want for the price they want. But like I said at least you said your piece and maybe just maybe someone will take the time to do it right. I know if I were to do it in MI you would be the first person I would want advise from and thats not cause I need to hang from your nuts but because you are doing what needs to be done!

Re: Organizing a stunt show...

I'm not sure how much $ I have to put into it quite yet. I'm really just feeling it out, seeing what all needs to be done, and really how to go about it. I've never planned anything quite like this, so I really have no idea what I need to do.

so.. to get this thing done right, I need thousands of dollars to back it, non-shitty music, stunters, sponsors, insurance (of some kind??), eats, drinks, and a buncha time for planning?

Re: Organizing a stunt show...

Put in the time and the work to make it successful and safe, if you are asking for advice and receive it from people like thomas take it to heart and if you cant go that route dont do it. Stunt shows are cool and all but if they cant be done right they are not worth doing at all!!

so are you wanting a show or to put on a competition..... completely different.... think some may be confused

If it's a show, hit me up, if it's a comp, thomas knows a thing or two....
