Stratford Inn in Danville.
It's nothing fancy and kinda old, but it's relatively cheap (50 to 60 a night), has a bar, and a free buffet breakfast is included in the price of the room. Did I mention it has a BAR? Ha Ha Plus, if you go to their website

you can download a printable coupon for 10% off your stay. It's around 16 - 17 miles to VIR. As far as I know, there are no motels/hotels near VIR, except for the lodging at the track itself, which I assume is expensive.
