bent rims

seems like my rims bend pretty fast on my mtb. Im sure its cuz I ride the rear where ever I go. I mean, like, the friggen rim needs to be straightened every month. You guys have this problem? Im not sure what to do, except for get it straightened all the time. Luckily this only costs me about 6 bucks at the shop.

Re: bent rims

I knew someone was gunna say that.

What do I need? Is it difficult?

Also what about adjusting the gears? My gears always seem to get out of adjustment too.

Re: bent rims

what psi are you running in your tires wheelie boy? If my tires don't have at least 100 - 110psi, then I won't ride flatland. I hate the mushiness *sp?* of them when they are lower than that.

Re: bent rims

ya, I usually run 80 or above cuz Im kinda heavy

at over 200 lbs doing stoppies and neverending wheelies, you gotta have some strong support from your tires.

Re: bent rims

that could be true but mtn bikes run on waaaaaay less pressure than bmx bikes.like a reg psi for a bmx is 100 and a reg for mtn bike is like 40 but thats way too hard for me, i run on a comfortable 26psi

Re: bent rims

One of the best rims are SUnRims Mag30's there about $100cdn a loop +hub and rubber lookin at like $240cdn.
But a cheaper rim that will take alot would be a sunrim ditch witch or singletrack or Doubletrack just my

Re: bent rims

Im goin crazy. They are bent so bad I cant ride a wheelie hardly at all. Always turns to one side.

Pressure doesnt seem to affect my wheelie stability. Just trying to save my rims if its even possible. The trick that really destroys my rim is when you pop the bike up, and bunnyhop a few times on just the back tire. That **** feels like its destroying your bike.
