Where did the name "highchair" come from?

Where did the name "highchair" come from?

Some people call cross up wheelies, "highchairs". I always thought that was a stupid name until I caught my son doing this the other day:

"highchair" is where it's at...when im in the "highchair" nothing is "crossed up". So how can i call it "crossed up". I vote "highchair".

actually up north we call it soda...its the just weird places that call it pop...and what is it...texas? that calls everything coke???
