Re: Project "Irish Pride"

Alright, it's official... it's done. Well, other than the fact that we have to cut out some of the runs in the clear and I need to run my handbrake but other than that it's done. I took it out the other day and rode it... feels like a CHAMP. So much different with 636 clip-ons flipped. I wanted to do my rear sets, forks and passenger pegs but I didn't have time and ran out of money so with the limited budget I had this is what I came up with. Hope you guys like...

I tried them the other way and they felt weird, so I flipped sides and it feels more natural to me.

It's off of a 1000RR... sooooo much better b/c it's not plastic, it's metal. Also the throttle cables are on the bottom so they are out of the way. And if you noticed that's a push button start. It's really just a kill switch off of a CR450, but I rewired it so that it's my starter. The front brake and hand brake reservoir are also off of a CR450.

Negative, I have 2 hockey games today which I just finished one and the other is at 6. Not to mention how bad it's raining right now. You guys going to try and go out later tonight if it's not raining?

No, when I bought the bike it already had a 954 front end on it with stock clip-ons. I really like the way it feels right now, but when I was rebuilding the bike I put the clip-ons on normal, as in just flipped. I didn't like the way it felt so I flipped them and crossed them (to their current position) and it feels much better. I should probably try putting them on the normal way and actually ride the bike and see how they feel, b/c right now the only thing I have to go off of is how they feel with me just sitting on the bike.

I'm debating getting rid of the 12 bar and going to a round bar, but who knows... I still enjoy doing bar tricks once in a while. And who is Staples??
