QUestion 4 u guys.... how do u think the buell lightning xb9s would fair against the 600/750 cc supersports? I'm talking twisty roads here. Which bike do u guys think is best for the roads... not the track. THanx

In Michigan the roads rarely twist, so your question does not apply here.

if you want rare i'd go with new blue and white GSXR. Make sure you were a wife beater too.

The buell XB9 kept up with the 600 class at the streets of Willow (in a Cycle World comparison). The latest issue of CW has an article on the new XB12 which they say should spank the 600's.

From an engineering standpoint, I think the Buell is the way to go. Sounds like they're serious about changing the public's perception of their quality.

they have something like 94 hp at the rear, so maybe keep up with a 600 not a gsxr 750, but on backroads it is all rider so if you can ride you can make anything look fast. as far a whats rare aound here a mv augesta I have only seen 1 one time, other than that every bike is a dime a dozeen around here

Isn't it just spiffy! A 1200 keeping up with a 600. Oh, wonder what kind of engineering feat that took.

I'm not into buells but Mike Mouth and Johnny out in Vegas got a couple from the dealer for free I think and they stunt the hell out of them... they sound cool as fukk... Like I said though, I'm not a big buell fan.

why not just test ride them to get a feel for what you like at not what everyone else thinks. i plan to test ride the xb12 because i saw one at the dealer and i thought it looked pretty cool. i know they have the gas tank built in as part of the frame or something to keep the center of gravity low. and as far as power goes i don't think a twin will ever out perform a four, but the twins do seem to have a substantial amount of torque compared to the jap bikes. not sure what you need torque for though. lol. another thing to consider is the outrageous price of the buell name. they want $10K or more for a xb12 and as far as i can tell you could get alot more for your money from a honda or suzuk. good luck.

one more thing. they have the shortest wheelbase of all the crotch rockets to date as far as i know. i would think that would be good for wheelies, not that that is something you want but just something else to think about.

btw, you would think with the torque and short wheel base they would be a great stunt bike... anyone stunt these or have any input?
