Re: What Bike

Welcome to SL For a first bike, check out the "General Motorcycle" forum, there's tons of threads just like this one. I personally think the 600R is better for a begginer, because it's not the best performing bike, although it's still got very good handling, and riding position. Good choice sticking with any 600cc bike

Re: What Bike

Take the MSF course if you don't ride much ... it'll keep you from wrecking a nice new bike. I took it like a year and a half after I got mine, cause I used to ride my friends' bikes all the time, but I also started on a beater bike for $1000. Anywho ... all the 600s have plenty of power for a beginner ... yzf600r is a good beginner bike, but you can kill yourself on anything ... that's what i had (that what eric has too) ... I let my brother ride it once and he totalled the thing in first gear cause he was clueless. Anyhow, I would buy the gixxer cause I love that bike, but take the course first its worth it
