f4i stuntbike question

i recently street fightered bike and does it matter if the air dams are gone i mean its just the holes by the box now

dunno about the f4i, but factorypro makes a jet kit for 900RR's that actually instructs you to cut down the airdams in the air box... I don't see why it would hurt the f4i....but then again it might mean you should remap the fuel injection?


EDIT: you do mean air dams in the airbox right....or are you talking about the air RAMS like as in the ram air intakes on the front fairing??? you don't need those post some pics

You don't need them. They were there to "escort" the air from the front into the air box. Now you have no front... it doesn't need escorting. It's got a straight shot. Should be fine...

And by the way it actually runs or feels way more torquy than with them on!! I guess it gets more air on idle tricks. The air gets there quicker without having to be pushed in by high speed or the intake ports dont need to suck it all the way from the front of the bike. Out here in 5,000 elevation, We could tell the difference.

thanx and yeah i can hear the air gettin sucked now its a lil more enine noise but ill like it

you dont need the air dams till your like over 100 mph or so so i wouldnt worry about it i have mine off
