Question SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

i used to ROCK scotts.the only damper that could out perform a scotts is the TOP MOUNT HYPERPRO CSC AND RSC models.

Hyperpro RSC TOP MOUNT STEERING DAMPER/STABILIZER

The Hyperpro RSC (Reactive Safety Control) damper will be an evolution compared to the previous steering damper. The re-developed speed-sensitive damping will feature an improved adjustability and a wider adjustment range. The Hyperpro RSC steering damper is released in July 2003.

The safety afforded by the unique HYPERPRO active design is reason enough for every bike owner to have one. However the HYPERPRO philosophy of quality engineering has resulted in a damper with a number of additional features that make it truly exceptional.

WITCH ONE DO YOU LIKE AND WHY????????
SCOTTS OR HYPERPRO???????????????????????

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

I think any piston type damper like the hyperpro are better. You just can't turn them down as much as the scott's when your doing circle's. It makes it harder to turn the bars side to side for balance. You can shut the scotts off completely so there is no resistance.

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

i havent had any probs with the scotts i honestly havent rode a bike with the other to answer but one thing that i like alot about my scotts that others dont offer at least that i know of is the fact i can use one dampner on several different bikes and change em within minutes....if you go through bikes or got more than one its a big plus,

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

welp i just got back from my usual thurs night ride its cold as hell out there and i want to give a shout out to scotts for saving my ***, we were out at a stunt spot on s.watt there was plenty of people watching and i pulled up a wheelie way past the balance point and it started to get a lil woosy so i taped the brake and came down hard and crooked my scotts was set on the stiffest setting but the bars where hammering back and forth hard i held them tight and went into a lil skid and was cool but im sure if i didnt have my scotts on it would of broke the bar stops off and tank slapped for sure...they told me i was past 12 but i dont know how that could be if i didnt scrape my tail, the only thing that scared me was the bars shaking on me i didnt think that could happen with a dampner on but hey im still positive it saved my ***

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

Just info i read in my scotts paperwork along time ago:

The stiffer you set it, the less it works for quick (slapper) inputs
The softer you set it for normal riding, the better it dampens sudden jolts

ummm maybe i sould of read my papperwork, anyone ever experience a slapper with a dampner on and if so what setting was it at? also i was told if this happens to sit back on the seat let go of the bars and ride it out but my natural response was to grab them and stop them from shaking, to get out of a slapper would you use a different approch with a dmpner installed?

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

I don't know if this has been posted before, i'm too lazy to look through all the damper posts, but I took my stock damper (gixxer) and replaced the fluid with 50wt motor oil. It is stiff as hell now, i'd probably go with 40wt if i had it to do over. I know it's not the most high tech but cheap as hell, and it took a lot of the head shake tendencies out. Also I did the same thing to my roomates gixxer and his 01 had some black sludge lookin stuff in there, so not a bad idea to replace the fluid anyway...

Re: SCOTTS VS. HYPERPRO dampers

i would recomend a gpr they have a lifetime parts and labor warranty. it's a rotary damper like scotts but better warranty. plus you can get them different colors
