10+ up enough?

i just ordered a 53 tooth sprocket from Sprocket Specialists (10 up for my bike). right now im -1 +3 and i have no problem lifting in first with or without clutch...but in third gear on the highway even on a steep hill and clutching/bouncing the **** out of it i can only get it to lift about 1 foot.. normally putting me into a tank slapper anyways im just wondering how easy my bike might lift -1 +10 the bike is a ZX7R..with a slip on D&D and rejetted.

Re: 10+ up enough?

I'm -1 +7 on my f3. So approx. plus 10. Comes up with a little bounce and clutch in third. Cruise on the highway 65mph in 6th at 6,000rpm. Little high but not bad since i'm only on the highway for like 5-10min at a time.

Talking Re: 10+ up enough?

Is +10 enough??? Well I guess so, especially if you are goin' to use it as a pizza trivet. No sprocket can substitute timing bro. You learn timing for bounce, clutch, chop, body language,etc...everythting else is just balance

This is very true... I had -1+3, kinda want to go back to it. Got stock +10 right now. Its cool, it wil help you learn faster, but will probably make you miss out on alot of steps too... Im still trying to get use to the new set-up, need to stop being lazy and practice more...

Re: 10+ up enough?

True dat, I also kinda did it cause my carbs/throttle response is jacked up.. Helps a little. Bike will probably be crazy once I get the carbs done up right...

Re: 10+ up enough?

carbs are the shiats . Got mine set for nice lows and super mids. It's so easy to muscle the bike back up once you feel the front coming back down, just roll the throttle. Get you carbs done by a local race shop. A lot of em know just the right settings for the powerfull mid-range set-up, so they can come out of the corners faster.

Re: 10+ up enough?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Getting it set-up more for low-mid range power. No need for top end, could careless.. Im not rejetted or anything, but they should still be able to work with the stock jets to get that power Im looking for??? I hope...
