Re: How has Stunt Riding taken a toll on your body?

Broken left wrist (2 weekends ago, looped stoppie), busted disk between L4,L5 not sure if it was stunt related, Busted rib, and old injury to left knee. All this and I still can't turn my back on the game @ 39. F*CK IT! If I can limp to my bike I'm ridding. In the game since 1998.

I have been doing this for a good 4yrs now and feel like I am 26 going on 80. I think my main downfall to stunt riding is having a bad back. After a solid day of riding I can barley bend over the next day.

It's nice to see the negative side of this sport too. This way people/beginning riders don't think it just all fun and games all the time. So lets hear it....either it is previous leg injuries, hand, back, etc how is it affecting you and your riding today?
1) 90mph wheelie crash 1 year ago left a scar on the outside of my left knee

2) rolling burn-out gone bad left a burn from the header on my right calf

3) Broken right ankle and torn cartlidge after crashing on the race track(4 years ago)

4) Sprained left ankle during a high chair wheelie crash this year

5) Bruises all over my thighs and *** after 12's gone bad this year.

The worst is waking up in the morning after stunting and trying to walk to the bathroom for a ****, and barely being able to walk cause my ankle and feet hurt/stiff.

Sob story done.

Great thread, I have been lucky to date as far as injuries...but every morning my hands and wrists feel like they are 110 years old...

Cheers

Re: How has Stunt Riding taken a toll on your body?

I ride a gsx-r 1000 04. The first time I crashed was at about 80 mph doing a sit down wheelie. I looped it and barely missed hitting a telephone pole. I broke every bone in my left wrist, had a hole in my right knee down to the bone, and tore all the muscles in my right shoulder. I was out of work and couldn't ride for a month. I got metal plates and a bunch of screws and pins in there. I'm still doing therapy every day trying to regain movement in my wrist. Second accident was about 2 months later. Looped it again doing a sit down at about 40 mph. I was only wearing shorts and a tank top. Got some nasty road rash all over my body. I couldn't take a shower for 4 days because it stinged so much. I'm still stunting though. Just got to wear a brace on my wrist when I do because it's pretty weak. Plus I never stunt without the gear on now. Road rash is extremely painful.

13 inch titanium rod to replace my tibia in my left leg, 4 bolts to hold it in place.

Broken collar bone, multiple cases of rash, a knee that has a mind of it's own,
but on the good side I can always sense a weather change!
