zx7r stunting

zx7r stunting
Hey guys,
All of you make me sick with your accounts of how you can pick up your 600s in 2nd, 3rd or even 4th gear!
I am a relative newbie and can clutch up 1st on my '98 zx7r (-1 on the front)...that's it! Tried 2nd, but, nah, it ain't happening!
I love this bike, but have grown tired of knee dragging and want to progress my riding into stunting (more fun as well).
The trouble is, I hate slowing down just to put it into 1st to raise it up, would love to just pick it up at 40+mph in 2nd or even 3rd (yeh right )
Would anyone recommend me any tried and tested methods?
...and I am reluctant to gear it any further, because I think I should learn a skill rather than gear it to the moon and say 'hey, i can do it in 3rd!'.
Or
Would you guys say to junk the bike and get something that won't hold back on your learning curve (e.g 929 gsxr750 etc)...
or..
F@ck it, grab your *****, and learn all kinds of stunting maneouvres on it as nothing is impossible (it is also half way to being a crunchy bike! ).
Thanks for any replies

Re: zx7r stunting
The fact of the matter is your bike is just way to heavy. If you dont want to gear it more, then i would say get rid of it and get something else. Any newer 600 will do or even an older 900RR. The only way you will get your ZX7R up in higher gears is to just change the rear sprocket. Good luck

Re: zx7r stunting
are you bouncin it? Straighten your legs and stick your butt backwards to give some weight leverage. As soon as you bounce it down drop the clutch and lean back adn it will come up. It took a while to get my 02 gsxr 600 when it was stock to come up in 2nd. I was dropping the clutch @ the wrong time when I bounced it. I was waiting too long to drop it and it would just jerk the bike. As soon as you throw your weight down, drop the clutch @ the same time. Hope this helps. After I got the timing down I was lifting my 600 on the highway doing about 60ish.

Re: zx7r stunting
my friend had a zx7r, took him forever to learn how to do a wheelie in first on that bike, when he tried on my gsx he almost fliped it the first time, he was amazed how easy it was. he then sold his zx7 to buy a cbr900rr. If I was in your situation, I would get rid of the zx7.
