Yes , an R6 can be 12'ved. You need to turn up your idle before you start doing 12 oclocks so the bike doesnt cut off on you. Turn your idle up to 3k and you should be fine.

Gearing def makes things easier, but also much more touchy. I would recommend you learn with stock gearing before you regear it. After i changed my sprockets, my bike is very touchy now. Takes more practice.

Dude, no offense to you, this is just kind of a general gripe, but is everyone else getting tired of seeing the same thread over and over, "I can't wheelie, can my GSX-R 1000 wheelie in 1st? I don't think my 954 is capable of coming up" etc etc. This really needs to stop.
Ok man, back to you now. I have a friend with an R6 and it is very wheelieable. In first gear you should have no problem clutching it up. You really want to learn to clutch up, power wheelies may seem a little easier at first just because all you're doing is nailing the throttle, but they're really unpredictable and will make you a lot more likely to crash.
When clutching it up you want to be accelerating just a little bit when you pull in the clutch, then as you pull it in give it more gas so the revs come up, and drop the clutch while giving it MORE gas so that it won't just jump. If you rev it up, drop the clutch, but then don't give it gas it's just going to lurtch on you, just foreward but not come up. You have to be giving it gas after you drop the clutch so that the front rises up and doesn't just drop.
Have fun though, find a nice empty parking lot somewhere and practice it for a while, a few half-hour practice sesions and you should be getting the wheel up in the air at least a foot or two. Always cover your back brake! If you feel like you're coming up too fast or too high or too whatever, giving it a little brake will bring it right back down.
And most importantly, WEAR YOUR GEAR. Meaning boots, helmet, jacket, gloves and jeans. SWEAT WASHES OFF, ROAD RASH DOESN'T, WEAR YOUR GEAR!

[QUOTE=damnmotorcycles] Why would you cut someone some slack when they are asking if a 100HP, 400lb bike is capable of having the front wheel come off the ground????

I own the first generation r6 and looped it a couple of weeks ago... So i'm pretty confident that it can be wheelied... I was in first gear and bliped the throttle to hit second, except I didnt blip more like opened it.. oh well..
