Man, first of all, if the guy didn't run you're going to sue the crap out of him I hope, so if he offers, DON'T TAKE ANYTHING from him. If he like, offered to give you enough to cover 1/2 of your medical bills, but implied that he was going to pay for everything else, but you never got that in writing, In court he can use that and say that you called it an even trade. Meaning; by accepting anything from him and can be called payment from him to you for what he did, and it's possible to use that in court to say that because you accepted, he doesn't owe you a dime.

I'm only saying all this because someone I know from college got hit on his 929 and the guy gave him some money at the scene and then tried to use that against by budy. Courts can suck.

But that's why you need to get a really, REALLY good lawer. Honestly, you don't want to chince out on a lawer if you really have a case against this guy, and seeing that he blew a light, I'd say you do. A Lawer with a lot of expirience in motorcycle injuries like yours would probably be your best bet, but don't cheap out, a good lawer can mean the difference between getting $10,000 and $100,000.
