i had the same problem i got a a brand new +12 from SS and i installed a chain that i got from a friend he only used it for a couple of month the first time i went out and tried it that **** happened!!! why?? now it happenes from time to time

all of our SS sprockets have lasted over a year and they are big too. I lube my chain every time i ride and check adjustment. should be 1" of slack on the chain.

also your wheel has to be inline (sprockets inline) otherwise it wears the teeth out fast. i replaced my chain twice last year but the sprockets are fine. once i notice that i have moved the tire back quite a bit i get rid of that chain cause it's too stretched and will eat up sprockets.

i've never heard of this happening on properly adjusted and maintenanced chains. only time i've ever seen this is worn to **** chains. if the sprocket was missing just 1 tooth, it's time to get rid of it, not continue riding. you're lucky it didn't jump off or break the chain and take out your engine cases, that's real fun to replace.

dont know, **** is always lubed and adjusted properly and maybe it is just a case of the fact that it is run everyday on the highway for hours and startin slow **** also. Oh well im just gonna have to get another

ya, i'm not saying yours has bad maintenance, i'm just saying those are the only ones i've saw do that.

and mine is run 1 down 10 up as a daily bike.....in a given week i put about 1000 or more miles on my bike.
