I think I fuct up.

I think I fuct up.
Well guys I know I haven't posted on here for a long time. I've been really trying to get my life straight for a while. I've just had too much **** going on. Anyways, I'll cut to the chase. About 2 months ago I decided I really wanted to get back into quad stunting especially since it's not real big right now. I stunted quads for years and did some really sick tricks that I haven't seen a lot of other people pull off. So for a while I had been looking for a quad to practice on and one that could pull the power that I wanted. I ended up going with a LE Raptor 660R. I've been practicing non stop for the past few weeks trying to get back all the skills I lose by not doing it for years. A lot of my tricks came right back and a lot didn't. Last Sunday I was practicing a one wheel highchair (only one wheel in on the ground and you're on the tank) and I rolled into a dropoff and the quad rolled over me really hard and pretty much folded me in half since my legs were up over the bars. When I got up the next day I couldn't get out of bed. I had to call in to work and go to the doctor. He gave me some muscle relaxers and x-rayed me everywhere. He wants me to go to a specialist. My back is still killing me and I can barely get around. Have any of you guys ever slipped or ruptured a disk or dammaged that kinda stuff. I've broken almost everything you can break but never anything with my back and the doctor can't seem to tell me ****. I'm just trying to get some ideas of what might be wrong and how I can fix it.

Get to a chiropractor. I have been saved many times by mine. Car accidents, sickness, asthma..... major stuff can be fixed with chiropractic care.

Before doing anything strenuous again, I would try to heal completely. If you don't do that - you prolong your healing time. If he did xrays & they were negative, it only shows the bones. In order to tell if you have other injuries, you need a MRI (that's why he referred you to a specialist). Good luck man, back injuries are the worst - hope it's not serious...

Re: I think I fuct up.
I messed my back up in a get off back in 98. X-rays looked fine so off I went. Now every other month or so I end up stuck in bed for a day. I can be doing something as easy as putting on my shoes or picking up some clothes off the floor and WHAM ! I can't stand back up . I lay on the floor for a while till I can get to the bed. I work out and lead a very active life and most of the time I don't even think about it , but when it flares up it kicks my a$$.

Re: I think I fuct up.
i have hurt my back a few times so lemme ask you something, can you feel the pain down in your leg or legs or is it just your back?
also lay down staright on your back and lift your one leg at a time. right first and than left. keep your leg straight. this will help you locate what exactly is hurting and will help you joints heal much fater. lemme know where the pain is at I might be able to help you out.

Re: I think I fuct up.
Thanks for all the advise guys. It's been a couple of weeks and it's still pretty stiff sometimes but it feels a lot better. I haven't been practicing for a while trying to give my back time to heal but I still ride a lot. I think either it helps or it just goes numb. lol. About how to pull that trick, you need more rounded tires to pull it off. I left the stock tires on my raptor because they're easier to roll on so you're not trying to balance on an edge of supercross tire. I've seen people stunting on half inflated Maxis supercross tires and it seems like a good idea unless you want to do tilt riding tricks. with the stock or other rounded tires, you can barely deflate them so you get a better traction area and when you roll over on the sidewall its easier to balance. Those other tires naturally either want to go to one side of the edge of the tread or the other. Rounded tires don't do that. Now onto ho to do it. It's pretty much like 01CbR929RR said. I usually do them with the right rear tire so I'll explain it from there. Roll the quad up onto the two right wheels while you're in the highchair position. (this is where awesome balance and a lot of practice has to kick in) Then get the quad going a lot slower so you have to maintain the balance point. Then turn the wheels slightly left and slow down just a tad so that the shocks barely spring. When the quad starts to fall to the right you peg the throttle. If you pinned the throttle while you were at the balance point it would lift the front up and naturally bring the other back wheel back down, but with the quad being just off the balance point to the right, when you hit the gas it's going to bring the front end up and take longer to bring the quad back to center. Now one of two things is going to happen here and it involves finding the sweet spot. If you let it fall over to the right too far it's just going to launch you and roll over. If you didn't let it fall far enough it'll just level back out like usual. If you can find that one groove in there that will make it take longer then you can use your legs to keep it balanced side to side and the throttle to keep it in the air. The truth is I have never been able to, and I doubt anyone else has, keep it on that one wheel for extended periods of time. You might be able to work out like 5 or 6 seconds at the most but it's still just a controlled and slowed fall. It's like the Buzz lightyear version of a quad stunt. It's no really consistant stunting, it's just almost crashing with style. lol Just take it from me, don't do it next to a ditch. Makes the fall a WHOLE LOT worse. When you can actually pull this trick for like 5 or 6 seconds and some is there to see it, it looks ****ing sweet even though it was 50?50 whether or not you were going to fall. lol
