Gloves

So what kind of gloves do you guys stunt in... I usually just use those mechanics gloves because I get better feed back from them than those really thick titanium and carbon fiber racing gloves that run you like $235 bucks. Of course every time I crash they disintegrate and I'm waiting for my palms to grow back.

I got some pretty similar to those, only they're Joe Rocket. Once you break em in, they feel just like the mechanics gloves. But they got more protection.

Re: Gloves

i agree it's easier with the thin gloves because you have a better feel of your controls.... I wear a set of Alpinestars (Tech Road Gore-tex)... they have held up through multiple crashes... once i got used to wearing them (and broke them in), i feel naked riding without them. and i dont think it really makes a difference being able to feel the clutch for the 2 seconds you are holding it in before you dump it.

oh, i don't wear gloves on the fiddy at all.. i've crashed several times and not had any problems... all my crashes are slow, that's why i got the 50... if i'm going faster (3rd gear) then i would recommend gloves unless you know what you are doing.

*edit* ok i'm a liar... i do put on a big glove on my left hand when i practice endos... i have a lot of trouble hitting the brake properly with the big glove on ... but i think it's better to at least have one on while i practice endo's at the top of 3rd gear.

Re: Gloves

Alpinestars makes a pretty good pair, but to be honest, I dont think I know a single person who has had a pair last them more than a year of riding....

Re: Gloves

$25 icon gloves and they held up well in a crash. I can easily feel the controls with them.

Re: Gloves

I love my Joe Rocket GPX gloves, They're the full size ones since I have a 1 piece suit I use for knee dragging. I feel more than naked without them on, I have only ridden without gloves once since I got them just around the block and it feels very weird.

Like they said, once you break them in they're perfect.

Re: Gloves

I started out with the IICON Tarmac gloves because they were thin, but they
stretched out, and were just too loose. Then I got the IICON Burner's, but I couldn't feel anything. So then I got a pair of the IICON Super-Duty, and
they are perfect. They are leather, but are thin enough that I can feel
everything. And they have some extra padding on the topside of the glove.

Re: Gloves

I rock only the Speedrag Stunter X gloves now. They are durable and comfortable. Had HJC and Joe Rocket before.

I just went through a pair of Mechanix like I had plastic bags wrapped around my hands. My palm was phucked! That's why I was figuring I should be using something a little more durable... Wifey said she wasn't to thrilled with me having ruff *** hands and sh-t. So I gotta protect my **** so I'm not cutting her *** all up when I'm spankin it.
