how do u do YOUR stand ups?

so i've always been riding my stand ups on the front pegs because thats jsut the way i learned them. then yesterday my friend got me to try them differently by puttin my left foot on the passenger peg while covering the rear brake with the right foot. and holy **** did that come up eeasy or what,
i wasnt even tryin to get it up hi that time and it came right the hell up on my bike which is only a 600. puttin the left foot back there obviously shifts teh weight to the rear of the bike. so yea, i think i found my new favorite way of stand-up wheeling. how do you do yours? put in ya two cents

It depends on the roads for me. If the road is smooth, I usually use the passenger peg. The only problem that I have found is that when you're doing 65 on the highway the bike tends to twist a little and feel loose. This wheelie is great for residential areas though due to the lack of road. I prefer just the usual stand-up for the highway for two reasons...the bike doesn't have the twisting affect and it's way easier to turn.

Pics coming soon

For slow wheelies I use the staggered method. Easier to balance. For faster 3rd gear highway wheelies, gotta use the 2 front pegs. Alot more stable, and thats the only way I can change lanes.

Re: how do u do YOUR stand ups?

I always use the rear peg. If you are getting that wobble be smoother on the gas, being choppy is alot of what causes that. Also, when it starts to wobble, squeeze the bike with you knees, it usually straightens right out. It is a little harder to steer left on the rear peg but you get used to it. If you want it to turn easier, bring it back more and get on the brake, the higher the bike and slower you are going, the easier it is to steer.

Re: how do u do YOUR stand ups?

for slower wheelies i stand left foot back and right foot foward. but for highway wheelies i stand on both passenger pegs. yes the bike does wobble a bit easier and it's a bit harder to turn when standing on the back pegs. but like all other tricks you'll get use to it and it becomes nothing. i stand on both back pegs cause the it puts alot less pressure on my hands. i'm able to stand more up-right rather then leaning back a little. just my $0.02.
p.s. i also suggest having the rear pegs "fixed or welded" if you plan on standing on both of the rear pegs. ride safe

both front pegs.. i want to try to learn to clutch first for slow stuff with the staggered heard its a ton easier. But for the hwy speed its the front pegs.. i can steer it like nothin' now.

Re: how do u do YOUR stand ups?

I have only tried the staggered method a few times, didn't like it, even for slow stuff, but I sit down and stand as the bike is coming up usually, I'll play with it a bit more this weekend when I'm out riding in KC.
