What does your family/friends think of what you do?

How does your family react to what you love to do... stunt. Lets face it... its dangerous... and we could get hurt. Hell i am hurt. Do you have to constantly hear their warnings of doom whenever they see you ride up on your bike or when you're sitting at the table for Kwanzaa dinner.

Even worse... what about when you do get hurt... Do you have to hear the "I told you so's"? I phucking hate that!!! Right now I'm on crutches and I gotta hear that **** every day from this herd of wildebeasts I work with here. Then they all run out back to inhale 2 1/2 packs of Full bodied camel cigarettes without the filters.

"Your gonna die sell that fukcing thing!!"

That's when you go mom check this one out and they have that look like you shot them.

my family has had it share of experiences with motorcycles and accidents 4 of my moms brothers have been in bad accidents and that was just normal riding. She was freaked out when I started building ramps in the yard and jumping. then it went to wheelies and the feet off the pegs and all the other fun stuff. Then I came home with a 955 and they really goit un happy. Then tend to get worried when you blow by them on the highway at 150+

"What happened... did you fall off your bike again?"

"Shut up bitch."

Luckily my wife's a rider and she understands my "need" to ride. She used to not want me to stunt around her... But now when we're out riding... and someone starts acting up... she gives me the nod... Sorta like she's saying "Go ahead... I know you have to..." and I do my thang. Gawd how I love that woman!

my family hated it, esp since both my brother and I do it. They made it to one of our shows and are completely supportive of it now. They still worry a bit about us getting hurt but don't vocalize it anymore

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

yep...they knew it was dangerous when I got the bike...they had no idea what i was gonna do on it! After my first accident and a few surgeries later...they hated it even more. No one in my family really accepts it. They accept the fact that im gonna ride no matter what, but they dont like it. Then after my second accident, they acted like they dont care anymore...like its a normal thing. Thats the reaction im looking for! Let me do the damn thing! My girl is usually pretty cool about it, till she has to take care of me cause im all laid up!

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

My mom still doesn't know I bought another bike, let alone I stunt. She thinks I swore off bikes after I wrecked my first one. My Dad knows I have a bike, but doesn't know I stunt. My sister knows I stunt and supports it.

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

Every day my parents tell me to be careful. My dad thinks my wheelies are awesome and my mom would die if she ever saw me wheelie. When I bring the practice videos to work everyone says, "you guys are crazy."

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

my parents have known about my riding since day one, and have been very supportive of it. they respect the fact I stay off the streets and that I'm talented at what I do. sure there have been a few tickets here and there, and maybe a few scars. but overall my family and friends know that motorcycles are my life and career. i've worked a ridden in the industry for the last 5 years and wouldn't have it any other way.

and they like it a hell of a lot more than my other activities

****, for me stunt riding is probably safer than those three too. i could totally see catching the hiv, or a brick in the head, or some other drunken outrage before ****ing myself up stunting at the local strip or parking lot.

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

i hear it every day. name it i have heard it. esp. when i also race dirtbikes. i have been in wheel chairs, and everything. and that is all i hear is "when is this all going to end? when you die?" why can't they just understand that this all is something everyone of us love to do.

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

...until; the day that I die. I'm insured... so f-ck it!

I hear it from the people i work with more than my family though.... They just about flipped when they found out I went skydiving.

"Why on earth would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?"

"Because the door was open."

Or if I have an accident they want to when I'm gonna sell it. ****, they have wrecks in their cars and keep driving. Why should I be any different.

If it wasn't dangerous where would the fun come from?

Re: What does your family/friends think of what you do?

I think the worst part about it as far as my family is concerned is the impact its having on my daughter... She rides with me all the time... and at 6 years old she was riding by the front of our house pulling flamingos on her Barbie style huffy.
