freestyle cages vs 905 ?

im running a fi cage now on an 02 f4i was thinking of switching to a 905 for starters the one problem is the fact that it keeps hiting the ground but thats not the biggest deal i noticed that fi cages when droped wil have a tendancy to almost roll the bike to an upside down postion toward the handle bars and windscreen area does the 905 cage do the same ?

streetfighterz

we all use 905, sponsored by them now and the cages are great. they take a hell of a beating. never had problems with them getting in the way either, plus you can rest your feeet on them on long rides. very comfortable.

well all in all , every cage ive used and seen, will all do the same, roll onto tank and destroy fairing stays! id go with 905 before freestyle, i know many people who have broken subframe mounts and motor mounts becasue of them. my 905 bents from side to side and u gotta smack it with a big *** sledge hammer so that it doesnt keep going into the cases. ive had broken welds on it it. but ive never broken nuttin on the bike only tank dents and scratches and bent fairing stays!

you guys must be talking about the old style 905 cages that go under the bike..i have the new style that goes though the fairing and it's diesel..when it goes down it just slides..fi cages break mounts and frames then flips your bike over

Re: freestyle cages vs 905 ?

I had an FI cage on my RR and drop it on a 12, the weld gave and bent the **** out of the motor mount and cracked the part of the block that the motor mount connects to, i had to pull the motor get it welded and bend the mount back out. I recently purchased the 905, I'm hoping it does a lil more justice...

Re: freestyle cages vs 905 ?

Anything's better than without one and they all have there draw back, whether it's breaking your shins, or breaking frame tabs. If you want your bike to stay mint, don't stunt, lol.

Re: freestyle cages vs 905 ?

Aaron sponsors our group, here in San Diego. I've seen many accidents with myself and all the other boys. From 12's getting away to freeway wrecks, only a few times did any of our cages bend or give in. 905 $hit works, it's better contructed then fi gear. It's funny some of you are complaining about when the cages hit and the bike tends to flip, what do you expect while stunting? If people want pretty shiny bikes don't stunt or if you do (is'nt that why we're all here S.L) nothing can totally protect. Look at the facts a lot of people will tell you freestyle is better, it's probably because they sponsor this site. I don't know if you guys have seen wicked crew cages, but they suck too. $hitty construction, the bars are too thin and buckle easy. I admit on some bikes 905 can hit your legs but you get used to it, or pad it. Also if your cage breaks, send all parts back to Aaron and he'll fix em or send out new ones.

Re: freestyle cages vs 905 ?

I'm not sure but the Powers bikeworx cage looks better than the 905 or FI. I haven't ran any of them but the Powers design looks really good, looks like it could with stand a lot. I have designed my own cage, its really strong but I think it would have been easier just to buy one and install it. The powers cage looks like it would even get in the way. Any thoughts?
