Re: 2000 sv650?

Yeah, sounds good if you don't mind buying a new motor every 3 months. Sv 650's oil pick up is in the front of the engine, during long wheelies the engine will be starved for oil and will blow. There is no way to customize the oil pickup due to the fact that the engine has no oil pan, you would have to split the case and find a way to get oil to the engine in any position. Good luck and if you figure out how, if you don't mind, share the info. If you want a v twin for the torque go for the TL1000

That's a great price, but the above post is right on the money. This is how Gina blew her engine and has been out ever since.

Re: 2000 sv650?

Not to mention that the forks are weak, if you got the SV you might want to concider finding some inverted forks that will hook up

Re: 2000 sv650?

Weak bendable, I can't put the difference between reg forks and inverted forks into words and I can't find any good pictures to show the difference but basically inverted forks are stronger.

Yes, but why buy a bike that you have to put so much money into that will just end up blowing up on you?

Re: 2000 sv650?

Oh yeah, and the bearings up by the triple are different in SV's and Gixxers so the steering will be kinda weird.

That would be wasted money. You could use that money towards a down payment on a loan at a bank. You need to go pick up a cycle trader. That is were i bought my 929.

Re: 2000 sv650?

Hey. Nothing wrong with the SV's. Just becuase you can't do long distance wheelies on them doesn't mean ****. I love my SV. It'll hold it's own. Great all around bike AS LONG as you stay away from long distance wheelies. Love the torque. By the way, you can fit GSXR fairing's on them?

Re: 2000 sv650?

SV's are the pimp **** man!! I have two buddies with them, an 02 and 03, the 03 has a newer frame (stiffer) and FI. Anyways, its a blast to ride, I wouldnt stunt it out hardcore but just wheelies and endo, corners.. you know just having fun on it.. I'd buy it for in a heartbeat @ that price!
