gixxer idle question, not consistant
i put the idle adjuster on from my old srad. thing is, the idle jumps really badly. i can have it set at 4200 but soon as i let out the clutch alittle or it's under load it drops to 3500 (where i want it). but when i rev it alittle it jumps back upt to ~4200. i don't know why it does this and its annoying as hell. anyone else have this problem? '01 gixxer 600. thanks

Re: gixxer idle question, not consistant
I have an '01 Sixxer too, I think the idle is just a bit weird, no biggie. Hell, I had a noise once like my cam tensioner was f-in up, had it looked at, it was fine. Had a bike shop mecahnic I know ride it, said it sounded perfect, so I guessed it was just me. I still hear it too......WHEN I HAVE MY PHUCKING BIKE THAT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, bike's been in the shop 3 months, waiting to have work started on it because my ins. is pulling my dick.

Re: gixxer idle question, not consistant
It usually jumps like that because of a rich condition and/or plugs that are out of spec. If you are adjusting the idle by using the fast idle lever then you are dumping way too much gas into the combustion chambers once the motor is up to running temperature. Make sure to set your TPS, sync your throttle bodies, install new plugs with the correct gap (and use dielectric grease), and then turn up your idle using the twist **** on the lower left side of the bike. After all of that you shouldnt have any problems keeping a consistent idle.
