? about 929 hp

Re: ? about 929 hp
aboot 135 at sea level. after really breaking it in well. at 6000 ft. (colorado we dynoed one it shot 120 at the tire. but they are so smooth. i have a 954 and mine is almost too responsive the 929 is nice and smooth all the way through the rev range. If your thinking of a stunter I think it's a winner. just a quick note, I don't know what your intentions are or if you have one or not but when I bought my 954 all I was after was power and in retrospect that was a mistake. I traded a Buell X1 in for mine and I was able to hang wheelies all day long but with tons more hp on the 954 I have all but forgotton what a long wheelie was like. the more power the slower your throttle hand must be. the only thing tons of hp will do for you is make it easier to dust cops. You won't be wanting to power up wheelies anyway so forget that idea. A 929 is one of the best in my opinion, it ain't the fastest, it ain't the most powerful, but is has more than enough power to do whatever you want. Just watch the "Streetfighterz C and I evolution"
more important than power the 929 is durable, and like I said before smooth. and those count more than power. HP is overated.

Oh ya,

Yeah, I have an 01 929, I know that power doesn't mean as much as people make it out to be. I was just wandering because I've had some buddy's who don't have sportbikes as me how much power & tourge is makes...Then I got to thinkin "you know what, I don't know" So I just thought I would ask. Thanks

Dude,
No prob. I get that question a lot. Just round it off say 140 hp and oh about 70 ft. lbs of torque. Always tell them the weight too cause more than likely they think it weighs like 600lbs.
Just some other impressive figures. At 6000 ft. altitude I run the quarter mile in 10.8 as a novice with just 1 down 2 up gears. at sea level we run about 10.1 to 10.5 but I've seen good racers do it in the 9s with fairly close to stock bikes. give em the top speed figures too.
Superbike magazine ran a bunch of sportbikes against the porshe carrera and the lamborgini diablo and every liter bike that ran against them beat the crap out of them in the 1/4 mile and in all out acceration. However those boys can keep going past 200mph but who cares,,,cars suck. i love getting all motorhead on people!!
