CBO and other 636 guys

How'd you like the bike... anything to look at / worry about / change?

I picked up a crunchy one the other day with 15000k on it.

I hear they're pretty brittle?

Re: CBO and other 636 guys

ask Teach(core6) about his crapasaki's....i mean kawasaki's
i'm sure he could share a few honest opinions.
but being brittle i'm not sure if they're as bad as yamaha's though

Teach here.

the bikes are sweet...the brakes are awesome, it handles great on the track, the motor is strong...

the casecover is weak, the footpegs are weaker, the footpeg brackets are brittle too...the pipes fall off constantly and the rear footpegs break easily too.

great bike, pm me if you want the hookup on toughening up that bike.

i run woodcraft rearsets/casecover/clipons that work mint, i HIGHLY SUGGEST this to make your stunting experience last a little longer!!

lemme know,

Teach

the bike already has a broken shifter peg bracket heheh.

I have a feeling I might be making some brackets out of tougher aluminum or steel or welding some reinforcements on the stock ones.

Will shoot you a pm re: woodcraft

www.woodcraft-cfm.com

the owners name is Eric Wood. Tell him that Teach sent you and he will hook you up with the stunter discount...

great stuff for racing, great for stunting too. i havent broken either of them yet and the clipons are real nice as well...two peice clamps, replaceable bars of course..

if you need anything, hit me up.

Re: CBO and other 636 guys

they are great bikes but they are made as a race bike.... so... everything is light weight fragile matterial... the casings are crap and shatter like glass and the body is pretty week as well.... i USE to own one and i cant say to much about it..... but it was a great bike... i loved the ride and how it felt.... but you have to think... if you are a "stunter" than you WILL eventually wreck.... thats a given.... and they are great bikes but they are very fragile bikes.....

im not shooting down the 636 cuz i owned one.... i loved my 636.... all i can say is do what CBO did.... deffinitly.... deffinitly.... get a cage and a 12 bar ASAP.... cuz it will save that bikes poor little life....

but i went from the brand new 2003 636 to a 2001 honda f4i and i love the honda because of the durability of it.... it just feels alot stronger than the 636 did.... but thats just me....

but the 636 is a good bike.....

Re: CBO and other 636 guys

I got some vortex sliders with it... I think i'll keep those on till I can get a cage for it.

but you guys are right... it feels totally light and fragile.

I checked out the woodcraft stuff... looks hella tight... I'll hit you up Teach when I'm ready to get some rearsets... Thanx a lot for the hookup!! you rock

cheerz,

e.

Re: CBO and other 636 guys

yep.... with a cage itll be fine.... and the 905 cage is a pretty bad as cage for the 636.... they are tough as **** too.... 905 came out with there cage right before i had my fall with my 636 and the shitty part is is that i was going to buy the cage on monday and it happened on sund..... so i deffinitly recomend to anyone with a 636 to get the cage....

and the exhaust does end up coming loose at the mid pipe.... but all you have to do is just keep an eye on it.... and tighten it up every now and again.... but as long as the clamp under the foot peg is still tight then the exhaust shouldnt fall off.... and it will start to shake a little in the mount when it loosens up also... so if you can move your exhaust then you need to tighten it up..... but its not really that big of a deal.... the exhaust is the least of your worries with stunting a 636..... but good luck to you....
