? about 929 @ low rpm's
I just bought a 2001 929rr a few days ago, it has 5,500 miles on it and has been very well maintained. I noticed yesterday that when I'm cruising in top gear around 3k rpms that the bike seems to kind of jerk a little like it's cutting out or something. Is this normal, I seem to remember here some people talking about this same issue in the past. Also will a power commander pcIII fix this...any imput will be much appreciated. Thanks,

yeah just keep it above 4grand and you'll be ok.
its just that there is a dead spot where the throttle doesn't respond well between 2 to 3 grand.
and yes a pc3 will smooth it out.

first, that's low as hell in the rpms for 6th gear.....bogging that motor out. haha
but ya, what you are getting, at 2700 rpms is where the first section of the exhaust valve opens up. you notice if you come up slowly it'll be kinda quite then at about 2700-3000 it resonates nad gets loud, that's because the exhaust is opening up, and teh bike kinda jumps because the exhaust opens and allows more free flow.
i stay away from pcIII's and all that **** because you can mess your bike's fuel injection up bad with that junk. i leave mine stock and it runs fine.

and ya, also, downshift, i try to keep teh bike about 4-5k rpms....6th gear that low of rpms is going to bog and cause the bike to be kinda twitchy along with taht valve opening and closing.
