Cages on an R6....question, problem?

I was going to buy a cage from POWERS and they warned me about the R6's upper motor mounts being so low that when you mount up the cage its low enough so you still go through clips ons and get your tank dented in. Get what im sayin'? So anyone out there that stunts an R6, whats up, what do you guys use and do they roll onto the tank easily when i lay **** down hard?

TIA,
Nick

And this is only on the 99-02 R6's, not the 03-04!

Yep.. tank will get hit if you go down hard enough. Well, at least if you're using the FI cage. My brother had the FI cage on and went down pretty hard. Dented in the side of his tank. I'm not sure about the other cages though.
Oh yeah.. he's got an 02 R6

Hope this helps ya out

ya, powers wont save the tank either, its just cause the upper motor mounts are so low, I guess there is one of the bad sides to stuntin an R6, but again, i have a stunt tank on, so whatever

Re: Cages on an R6....question, problem?

i got a 905 cage and i welded some tabs on the cage then bolted some frame sliders to the tabs and totally fixed the problem of the bike rolling over. also the frame slider absorb alot of the shock when you wreck... i am super happy with mine!!

That sounds like a good idea with the sliders, i rock a 905 cage too, and have rolled it all the way over and dented the tank.... What caused the neck of the frame to break?????
