color, recall on clutch basket in 00's, and recall on fuel line on 00's.
that's the only things. every single part is interchangable. basically, the year is only required when ordering something for color like plastics.
the main thing is the clutch baskets on some 00's would explode so make sure that recall is fixed if you have that year. the fuel line was just a recall to put a longer one on it, doesn't really affect anything but it's a bitch to take off the tank.

set the front forks stiffer, put the preload (big nut on top) do 3 notches down and then tighten the compression. run michilen pilots for the front for best stoppies, definately get a damper.
also tighten the spring and compression on the rear up, that helped for doing slow stuff for me cause the rear end didn't move so much.
for oil level, i leave it on the kickstand, and fill it to to the bottom of the window while it's on the kickstand. never had an engine problem with it yet.
also find someone to make a mirror brace for you cause the front windscreen isn't very strong for highchair tricks.
