95 900rr problem

i was driving home and my engine started knocking noticably. then it died like it lost its charge. it won't start like the batteries dead or something. the knock didn't sound as loud as a rod would. it sounded like it had bad gas in it. but i just filled up last night on my way home and parked it in my garage. does this sound familar to anyone. need advise please.

charge battery and see what happens. maybe was spark knocking cuz it wasnt get enuff juice from the elec. system. bad gas doenst make the battery die. i start with the rectifier, then the stator. take your battery to autozone or something and have them load test it, if your regulator is bad sometimes it can fry the battery
