Well, I had an X-1Lightning for about 2 years and got rid of it. You have to pull a trailer with a magnet on the back to catch all the **** that falls off the thing. I had problems with the exhaust mounts just because it vibrates like a crack-***** coming down at an idle. I had to have them replaced at least 10 times until I just had them weld the P.O.S.

The pegs kept breaking durring stand-ups at 50mph and while stepping off to skitch. So I had to do stand-ups on the back pegs, (see avatar) which wasn't that big of a deal since I had to be on the back pegs or standing on the seat in order to get bitch to wheelie above 50 mph while I was YARDING on the bars anyway.

The tank cranks when you try high chairs.

If you are taking even moderate corners, expect to wear down the side stand and/or pegs to nothing. (I still have a new one if anyone needs it.)

I could go on for hours... I hate the x-1.

On the bright side, I saw Todd Colbert in Fl. and he is rocking a Firebolt. Because of the upgrades on the newer models he almost has me sold on 'em. I may be a Bueller again. The motors are **** for wheelies, though.... Damn I miss those torquey wheelies... I loved that thing. I'm so F'ing torn...

rode the firebolt xb12. i didnt try any wheelies with it or anything because it was on a test ride and i didnt want to buy it if i broke it. i also wasnt that impressed with the motor. granted it was stock and not broken in, but everyone told me you have to go with all the mods (chip, exhaust, blah) just to get some juice out of it. so far i know it redlines at about 6 or 7k, and my superhawk goes to 9500. i kept hitting the rev limiter everytime i got on it and getting on it didnt take me too far. it does look pretty sweet especially to stunt. im sure you could do killer stoppies with those huge front brakes. but for the money, you could get a brand new gix750 with enough cash left over for a new leather and helmet for the cost and expect more reliability. i would buy the lightning as a second bike just to cruise around if it werent a ton of cash. but for now im sticking to honda.

check out craig jones. he is factory sponsored by buell and hes huge in englandl

just my

They are the easiest bikes to wheelie that I've ridden so far. They also have WAY better brakes than the x-1, so stoppies were a lot easier. On the X1lightning, as soon as you do a couple of stoppies, it's like you are braking on waffles.

I was cruising in the city on the Ducati yarding up wheelies thinking, 18 grand, 18 grand, my wife's going to kill me if I drop this. Too much stress.
