Re: how do i bypass a tip sensor

1) wire a 100k resister between the 2 wires (lil black box on the left in front of the batt.) or pull it open and remove the brass ring

Re: how do i bypass a tip sensor

i got a question on that. why can't you just unplug it and wire 2 wires together like on a honda? then you can wire it back later verses destroying it with silicone or whatever. just seems like too much of a mess. is there something wrong with suzuki's that you can't just bypass it with wires?

Yup, won't work. That's why you have to use the resistor or lock the ring in place.

Its way easier to fill it with silicone.

Because the Suzuki is an open circuit that closes when tripped wiring the 2 wires together makes the bike think the sensor is triipped all the time.

then couldn't you just leave them unplugged all the time? i'm assuming this will cause damage of some sort if people aren't doing it.

and i don't see how buying silicone, taking something apart, putting silicone all in it and letting it dry, then putting it back together is easier than just cutting 2 wires, twisting them together and putting black tape on them, or even using a butt connector like i did.

It dosent work that way either for some reason the switch has to be in the system for it to work from what ive seen, thats why you just rig up the switch not to move inside. Its SUZUKI what do ya expect

So you can just unplug it and tie the two wires together?

on a honda, you have to cut the tip sensor off, then wire the green and the red one together, and leave the white one unattached.

pm me for more details cause i don't want to bastardize this thread anymore.

If you unplug it, it does'nt run. That simple. A honda you can't take it apart so you have to rewire it. You must like making things more difficult then they are. You've already bastardized this enough why stop now?

well, i guess i'm being difficult cause i'm trying to understand it. I understand now but i just wanted all the facts so i know. I don't know much about suzuki's and i have some friends that ride them so if they needed help doing that or something i'd actually know what i was doing and why i was doing it that way. thanks

Re: how do i bypass a tip sensor

This is a good thread, I had a little run-in with my tip over sensor yesterday.
Doin wheelies off of the sidewalk @ our spot, and I guess when I came off the curb and bounced the tip over switch cut the motor off and sent me into double front flip into back flop on the concrete about 15 mph. It was fun. :YEAH
