ok i took off my carbs and looked in the 4 intake ports where u can see the valves in two intake ports so 4 vlaves theres rust on the top of them! i just bought this motor from some guy i dont know who said its been sitting a long time so can i just run it >? or do i have to take **** aprt and clean it? what about just addin some oil? i dont know if rust is just on top on the valves or in motor

 

Spray wd40 in there, let it sit, change the oil and filter, and flush the coolant, hope for the best!

 

Throw Some Chevron Techron In The Fuel The Next Time You Put In A Full Tank. Do This Like Every Other Tank For A Few Weeks. That Stuff Cleans Out Carbon Build Up Like Magic (i Know You Said You Have Rust, But This Stuff Will Help Too)

 

the rust is like caked on there and mushy and **** its not like normal rust will this *** my motor or will the **** just run out'/?????????

 

IF YOU ADD THE TECHRON AND GET THE MOTOR RUNNING, IT WILL PROBABLLY JUST BURN UP IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND BE OK....IT'S HARD TO SAY THOUGH......ONLY WAY TO FIND OUT IS TO GET THE MOTOR STARTED, ADD SOME FRESH FUEL WITH TECHRON, THEN PUT SOME MILES ON HER.....GOOD LUCK

its a good possibility it will *** it up, do you know if the motor turns or not? cause if that ***** on the valves its almost guaranteed its in the cylinders

 

pretty sure it won't **** the motor, unless the thing is rusted all the way down to the crank.(Hopefully he left oil at least in the bottom end) First things first crank it over by hand and make sure it moves(make sure to pull the plugs out). If it doesn't then your ****ed, if it does I would just pull the head and replace the guides and seals for the valves. Your head might be the only thing real bad but, I would pull the pan and do a visual inspect to see what she looks like in there.
