R1 throttle control

Anyone else that ride R1s notice how hard it is keep stand ups smooth & high. When I am in 1st and got it up high enough that I'm not accelerating, its very hard for me to have any throttle control because it drops quick if I back off the slightest amount! Thoughts please!

Re: R1 throttle control

If you back off the throttle input has to come from somewhere else, try leaning back a bit more when you get off the throttle a bit.

I get the same thing ...it's a R1 fuel injection thing. CRAZY throttle response, I get the same thing in 1st ....gotta start using back brake instead of throttle control :YEAH

Re: R1 throttle control

I can wheelie my R1 no prob, first is a bit difficult though. I went -1 +2 and now I can clutch 2nd from as low as 15 mph. but i suck at slow wheelie's so i normaly bring her up at about 35-40 and hold her anywhere between 65-80 mph.
later,
Joey

Re: R1 throttle control

yea, I can do 'em in all the other gears too, but I'm trying to get as close to 12 as possible and I like going slow rather than super fast doing it Plus its cool to have the motor roaring and the bike pointing at the sky!
