Front Brake Upgrade

Got done this past weekend mounting 900RR 4 piston calipers to my F3 (stock 2 piston). I had already installed the 900RR master cylinder and steel braided lines....it helped a **** load, but I wanted more. I was given the whole brake setup of a 900RR so all it cost me was a couple bucks in steel. They work like a badass. It is not as jerkey as the stock calipers and bites better with less effort.

Re: Front Brake Upgrade

i take it you used the rotors off a 900rr on that f3 front rim right?

hmm....wonder if this could be adjusted for an f2...it has a funky front rotor and stuff so i just wonder.

Re: Front Brake Upgrade

900RR rotors are the same size as the F3....The F2 rotors are just a little smaller. I bet it would work if you switched to the F3 rim and F3/900RR rotors, although you would lose the speedo (as if you probably give a ****).

ya, the problem with the f2 rotor i was talking about was that its' a fixed rotor, not floating like the f3's. If i could get ahold of a decent 17" f3 rim, you think i'm going to put it on a stupid 600??? hell no man, i'm gonna put that **** right on my 900rr....HAHAHA

and, you made those brackets out of steel right? if i was you, i'd make them out of aluminum so they don't rust. I can get aluminum for you if you need it.

It dosen't even take cash. You can get the whole setup of ebay for cheap...Then the steel is less that $5.

Is that a F2 rotor also??? I know that those are smaller than the F3/900RR rotors. Or did you cut back some F3 or 900RR rotors?

Thier ebc rotors bigger than stock 900 rotors and the caliper spacers are made by ferodo. I made spacers for the axle and bolted them up. I bought the whole set up from a friend and it stops a hell of alot better then the old 93 brakes.

how much did that cost since you have to buy rotors? If it's going to be more expensive than just finding an f3 front rim and using my 900rr rotors then that kinda defeats my purpose...haha. good **** though
