Question GSXR750 and blowing up?????

I have been reading alot about how gixxer motors blow up and tranny's and whatnot. My questions are why, what makes them go bad exactly and how can it be prevented? I beat the shiznit out of mine with no problems but I don't want anything to happen. Can you move the oil pickup from front to rear? what?

Re: GSXR750 and blowing up?????

Ive heard the 00-01 600's have a tranny problem

I would suggest not doing 1st gear power wheelies and then shifting into 2nd...

Re: GSXR750 and blowing up?????

I have blown up 3 motors in a year and a half. 1st motor spun a bearing and knocked really loud. Don't know why. 2nd and 3rd something started tappin in the top part of the motor on the left side. It got louder and louder, the a loud "clack" sound, it was over. I guess its because of oil starvation from 12s.
But search the Darksyde forum there was a thread about a new oil pan for gixxers you can get to move the pump to the back of the motor.

Motor: Rod bearings on the crank

Tranny: 2nd gear problems in some 2000 models

.....just keep buying motors and selling smoked ones for parts

On my 2nd motor, 2nd gear would skip under alot of power, something like the shift fork was bent, had to do alot of tricks in 1st or 3rd.

because honda's do the same ****. It's all how you ride it. Granted the 2000 750s had the hollow shift shaft that caused 2nd gear to go out and the 01 600 had a problem with the shift drum bolt backing out (all you had to do to fix it was locktite the bolt and retorque it down), but all the other years are fine. All bikes have their little production hiccups, exploding 929 clutches anyone? Didnt you read the thread on 929s blowing up? If you beat a bike off the rev limiter ALL the time or do rev limiter coasties or bang off the limiter doing high speed flybys, or rock 1+ mile wheelies at 13K you are gonna go through motors.
