929 gearing
I was thinking of puting a 60 t rear on my 929, I already droped on in the front. I was wondering if anybody has done this and if they like it,and how fast does it go and is it alot better for slow shi t. oh yeah , what gear do you clutch it in then.

Re: 929 gearing
i'm -2 in front with a 60t rear on my 900. Took awhile to get used to it but i love it now, tons of engine braking, can crawl 2mph wheelies. Finally tached it out in 6th over the weekend, no guages but i couldnt have been going more than 80-90mph. if you plan to ride the street at all, dont go that big, if its purely a stunt bike, do it!

im -1 +20 (63 tooth). that **** is gorgeous. Bring 1-6th up. Engine brake galore, comes up w/ out effort. its simply beautiful!
and i go on the highway, revs high But i do it. 4th gear for days on 1 wheel.

Re: 929 gearing
i'm 1 down 10 up. When i get my next 929 in here soon i'm goign straight 20 up on it cause it'll be streetfighter.
i like my 1 down 10 up, works great for slow stuff and i still have pretty good speed to do some crazy long coasters. I only gainged about 1500rpms on highway cruise at about 60mph. i had my gps with me to test max speed and it was still 146 so that's not bad. i don't like going over 100 anyways.
also, if you do go down in the front, only go 1 down, going any smaller on 929's will cause the chain to eat the swingarm. also, keeping the bigger sprocket in front, and just going to like a huge rear will give you more engine brake then say like 2 down 14 up (same gearing as 20 up, just not as much engine brake cause the sprockets are smaller).

Re: 929 gearing
its all about the gear ratio. weather its a 3 tooth front sprocket & a 43 rear, or a 15 tooth sprocket & a 70 tooth rear. it comes down to ratio's
and I agree about the 929 front sprockets. im only -1 and my **** ate some of my swingarm down.
