definately wouldnt be a direct bolt in, physically i dont think the 900 motor is any bigger, but getting it mounted would be a challenge

The 93 had 893cc
the 98 had 919cc this is the only diff stroke is the same and the cases are the same
I saw an f3 on ebay with a 900rr motor in it. So I guess it can be done

Re: Will 1999 900rr Motor Fit 1993 Frame???
893cc was from 93-95. 919cc was 96-99, then the 929 came out. A 900 motor can be put in a 600 chassis, but it isn't a direct drop in. You'll have to fab a couple mounts. Also, the 600 weighs more than the 900 (F2/3 era bikes) due to steel frame, etc, so not much point in it. The older 600 chassis wasn't designed for that much torque anyhow.

My 96 f3 dry weight of 405
my 98 RR 407 not much diff but the f3 is weighs less
It was not designed to handle the power of the 900 motor but hey it would be some pimp **** to slide one in there :YEAH

there is nothing cool about a F2 or 3, even if it had a CBR1000 motor in it

Re: Will 1999 900rr Motor Fit 1993 Frame???
The 1993-1995 900RR was a 889cc and the 1996-1999 is a 919cc.
The motor does bolt in directly, yet there are some changes. 1st, the 1993-1994 speedo runs off the front rim. The 1995-1996 or 1997 speedo runs off the front sprocket and the later years run off the transmission.
The radiators are different for the 2 motors. The 889cc motor has a straight/flat rad. the 919cc radiator is a curved unit. This isnt a problem as either one can be used.
The problem comes in with the rad lines. Im not sure what it is called, but on the right side of the motor in the back where the main rad hose come out and run up to the rad, the connection is different on the 2 different motor types. You can either run a longer hose to go from a 889 to 919 or get the right part for it. I ran a longer hose, spliced them together and it worked fine.
Besides that, there should be no problems at all. I had a 1998 motor in my 1995 900rr after I spun my 3rd main bearing. lol

Re: Will 1999 900rr Motor Fit 1993 Frame???
this is off topic but related to the 900 swap in the 600. you have to fab pretty much a whole new frame. you'll have to widen the frame because that 900 motor is a lot wider than the 600. my team mate is trying it now cause he's stupid and it's not even close to being a week long project. plus the frame isn't as rigid, or the swingarm, and the forks aren't as great....just use the 900 frame. you can pick htem up for like 2000 for a whole bike.
and ya, the newer motors are tons better!
