gsxr 1000 problem

Got a 01 gixxer 1000 will run ok than after revin which revs fine will than just stall after letting go of throttle. After starting back up will not idle good will seem to miss fire than will clean up and run fine.
example. just going into a corner on the gas than let off and the bike will shut seem to stall and start farting popping and finally will run fine until i let the gas off again. turned up the idle just to try it but still will stall after reving.
O yeah it all started after riding my bike on the ice. but ran fine for about a month than started acting up.
Hopefully someone can help
Thanks
Shane

Re: gsxr 1000 problem

Sounds like you've got some sort of gas problem. Do you store the bike outside? Is there a possibility that there is some water/condensation in the tank? That would definately make it run like that. Try taking the gas tank off and empty/clean it out, put new spark plugs in it (sucks...$8 each). that will most likely solve your problem.
Let us know when youve got it figured out!!!!

Or your Fuel Injector Rack could be bad, I had a similar problem where when i would do ilde up stuff the bike would fall flat on its face. But ya if changing the fuel and all that stuff doesnt work change out the injector rack borrow a friends or something like that!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: gsxr 1000 problem

bike is stored inside right next to 2 boilers( i know very bad) bike was running fine all winter on the ice than started acting up . I did change the fuel but at same gas station.
I started the bike today ran fine until i reved it up which runs ok after letting the throttle go it just dies. After starting it up again it ran like crap and was smoking (not bad). Maybe to many wheelies at 0 degrees .
I tried jumping the wire to check the code but reads 00
I will try new gas and if not will try new injector rail.
Thanks alot and i will let you know what the deal is
Thanks again
shane

Re: gsxr 1000 problem

.........ridin' in the ice and snow and all, you might want to check your battery terminals for corrosion......your fuel injection runs off of the battery.

Re: gsxr 1000 problem

The funny thing is, it hit the curb, jumped up and spun out....about 15 feet short of the boat launch on the river at the end of the parking lot! It almost went for a swim

Thats what I would say to. I had the same problem last spring, acted the same way. If you jump that pig tail in the back make sure the led is in the middle after turning the throttle a couple times (key on engine off) it's in the lower right of the display. I had to buy a new sensor, even after adjusting it to the middle position it still would run like ****(ohmed bad). The sensor is about $70.
