Re: Rear Brake Upgrade (major)
if you dont wnat to rock dot 5 try this stuff that MAXIMA makes, its in a black bottle with a purple label, i got it out of the tuker roky catalog at my dealer, its like dot 3 that has a boiling point of 550 degrees, regular fluid boils at 220, and dot 5 at 500, this **** is tight, i use my brake alot for slow traffic stuff and it never fades, in daytona this year i went like amile and a half all on the brake no problem, around here i dont rock the streets anymore but no problem in the lots either.
i also change the fluid once a month to keep it fresh, when you look in your reservour it should be almost clear, if it looks like pepsi change that ****,
oh yeah one more thing, if your usin that much brake all the tim and most of us do when learnin, i know i do, be prepared to crack rotors on the daily, i got nasty fluid, all over the brake all the time and i go through one a month in the summer, so like all these guys said the key is to get good enough to not use the brake so much. you can put fins, bigger rotors, coolant tanks, freon injection, anything you want, and the rotor is atill gonna crack after a while. so take the nasty dudes advice and come farther back the bike wont need brakes then
