handbrake users, where did you get your long brake line?

ok, i measured out i need about 80" long line. i was looking at parts unlimited universal brake lines. is that what you all used? i only see them listing up to 72" lines. This is on a 929 so if i mis-measured how much i'm going to need let me know, i just don't want to be short.

thanks

Hit up Melissa, at the So-Cal Galfer store. She's hot and she'll send you your break line, any size, any bike.

i have a 900rr front brake turned upside down. just get a longer reservour hose and run the bottle on top. works fine.

digity, i have a 900rr bracket and i'm welding it to my 929 stock bracket so they are 180 from each other. any tips on doing this to make it strong? i was just going to weld it up real nice and put it through some serious stress tests on 2 wheels before i go relying on it.

weld it 90degrees instead of 180. KInda hard to slide the rotor through both when they are opposed. Should be plenty strong that way too.

929 front brake master cylinder is the hot set up too. It has a large piston so you get plenty of pressure.

Re: handbrake users, where did you get your long brake line?

i'm runnin the same thing binder, stock 900rr front caliper upside down, custom bracket. kyle is right tho, you cant pull the wheel off with the caliper on, but its only 2 bolts, not a big deal to take it off. Currently using the 900 front master cylinder upside down, but i'm thinkin about goin to the 929 setup. here's a pic:

i got the line from

http://www.stockcarproducts.com/aqp1.htm - scroll down to the Teflon hose

use a -3 line, i had the fittings already and made it myself (ok, my dad did, but whatever, its not hard to do)

been using it lately, seems to work well. Just a real bitch to get it bled right. Gotta take the master cylinder off and turn it right side up and turn the caliper right side up, bleed it, then bolt it on.

hit me up on AIM if you need some help.

Adam

ya, i might do that kyle, i haven't welded yet.

and ya, i wanted a 929 master cylinder, cause i have extra brake levers, but they are hard to find and expensive. i'll use this 900rr until i can find a deal on a 929 one.

dietrying, i got you on my list, i'll probably be asking you for some help with those lines. i don't have tools to make my own.

Just for a hint, sleds have the master cylinder mostly on the left side and the lever is usually really small. So it would be ideal for handbrake, just my .02
