I have one and use it. It works extremely well. Since it is for the rear wheel it does not require alot of pressure. I can still lock up the rear tire easily. It helps turn the bike in and also helps with rear wheel spin while exiting corners. Not sure about street application.

Re: GP Tech Thumb brakes

GARBAGE!! the only way to get a decent handbrake is to mount another caliper and run a front brake lever upside down.

Well thanks for the advive darius, what about running the front brake M/C lever as a thumbbrake then run it to a dual foot master cylinder. then there is only one line to the rear caliper. i mean would there be anough preasure?

Re: GP Tech Thumb brakes

i had several models of gp thumb brakes.unfortunatly i am going to say they are garbage.i had to return 3 of them due to blowing out the pistons in them.also as well your thumb does not have as much strength of 4 fingers.so in short weld up a 2nd caiper and things will be al good.for anymore ??? on thumb brakes ask cbo he is the thumb brake specialist.

Re: GP Tech Thumb brakes

I got a much easier solution. Pizza pan that bitch. -2 + 25. Let off the throttle you got so much engine brake that ****'ll toss you right down. $100 bucks for new sprockets, no welding. no banjo fittings, no failed cylinders. Bango! done.

Re: GP Tech Thumb brakes

we use them and we love them----we used gsxr front master cylinders and flipped them upside down and mounted them on the left clip on. then we purchased the diverter from gptech along with a brake line. they work perfect. plenty of pressure

--but it isnt using your thumb, you press it like a front brake with 2 fingers

What is and were does "the diverter from gptech"go because i purchased a new foot mastercyleder from gp tech wich allows me to run both foot and thumb brakes though one caliper.
