I'll do that trade, lol, and throw in an engine, lol.
Honda's are much better on subframe strength. I'm tired of breaking mine too, I've gone through 3 so far, and am on the 4th one

Re: sick of bustin sub frames

yo flako i am getting a new paint job right now hopefully i will be back up by thurs...so we can do a test ride..i know you now the 1000 but i never rode a 929...yo R.O.C I set it down nice and easy but when you try to scrape for any distance..it just pops the subframe..if you miss a little on a coaster then its over for the subframe...thats why i am thinking of not running a bar,,just the cage

Re: sick of bustin sub frames

I have broken three on my '01 750. The first one was when I was learning 12's, and the other two happened when I learned to park tank wheelies and seat standers. I have been lucky lately, but Lou Brakant made some kick *** supports for the GSX-R's. They bolt behind the rider rearsets and up to the lower subframe mount. Haven't had any problems since. It also helped when I ran a longer bolt in the lower mounts with a nut on the back to stiffen it up where they were breaking. (the left side lower mounting hole). If you want a set of nice braces cheap, send Lou a pm.

Re: sick of bustin sub frames

allright then i will check into that support bracket deal...so i guess the question now is what would most of you like to stunt....the 1000 or the 929...i never rode the 929...stunted on a 01 gsxr600 and it felt like i could do anything on it compared to the 1000...creeping 12v's with the stock gearing...the 1000 got -1,+4 and it cuts out on me when i get too slow.

Re: sick of bustin sub frames

I broke 3 subframes and a frame, the last subby I broke I was easing it down, and it still broke where it mounts to the frame.

So I took the bar off, and blow out tailights, it looks kind of cool :YEAH

Prozak has a steel subframe for his 929 & he's never had any problems. He broke a stock subframe & went right to the steel one. Frames still ok.
But 18 subframes, holy ****! eBay must love you.
